Yet, US government housing is only 100m away as the crow flies and about 400m by foot on the road, with regular buses to and from Grafenwöhr and Netzaberg. Commute to Grafenwöhr is a mere 20 minutes.
A butcher, a bakery, a small convenience store, restaurant, and even a club that regularly sees American guests are available in Kulmain and within walking distance.
Kemnath (3km / 2mi away) has all the bigger stores from groceries to clothes, shoes, etc., a wide array of restaurants, and a public swimming pool.
As mentioned above, you really don’t need to worry about anything!
Not only is the whole apartment furnished, but it comes fully equipped with everything you need to feel comfortable right away. Kitchen supplies, tableware, flat screen TV, even bed-sheets and towels are available.
The same goes for payments – electricity, water, and pretty much anything else you can think of (except for landline/internet/TV contracts) are included in the utilities, so there are no extra costs or stress.
Pets are generally welcome but need to be approved by the landlords (please leave your pet-grizzly behind when PCSing).
